The reason people saying hxh won't be back is because in the manga the arc thats RIGHT AFTER the last arc in the show STILL ISN'T FINISHED. Mind you the arc ur about to watch was finished in the manga in 2012. SINCE 2012 THE NEXT ARC HAS STILL NOT BEEN FINISHED. This unfortunately is due to the author having chronic back pain and hip issues to where he has to lay in bed all day and try to work so its hard for him to work on the manga. Hes also unfortunately stubborn and won't let others work on it for him but i understand wanting to keep your creative vision. Anime nowadays release "seasons" through arcs (shibuya, reze arc, etc) but seeming as the next arc hasnt even been finished yet is the reason ppl say "ts never coming back".

Thankfully the authors been in a decent state lately, almost 20 more chapters are fully done. Dunno when the manga will have enough content backed up for another season though, hxh’s current arc is most certainly going to be the biggest in hxh. But i’d also say its the best, its SO peak. Id give hxh like 3-6 years before we realistically catch a whiff of an anime continuation.
