If every dub began to use localization and take liberties like this one. There would be no Sub vs Dub. The only reason Sub has ever been superior is because the Dub industry is usually shackled to extremely strict and poorly translated scripts. This and the Dandadan dub have been revolutionary to show people what dubs can do.

From the stylish identity of the whole world to the phenomenal English dub, Gachiakuta is truly deserving of being called a hit. The anime does such a great job of elevating the story, capturing the art style perfectly while complementing it with OSTs that make every scene so much cooler. The dub was amazing as well. You can count on your fingers the number of times studios have let VAs go wild and experiment with their own interpretations of how a character should act, but thankfully Gachiakuta was one of them. The dialogue and attitudes felt so authentic and fit each character so well that it's easy to forget this ain't the original. All of this combined, on top of the genuinely interesting lore, made this show so fucking fun to watch, and now I can't wait for season 2 to come out.
