You think they bought it?

I might be reading too much into this, but this cameo seems significant. With the inclusion of "Mondavarious" back in page 134, the presence of these two familiar faces is much more than just fan service. It means we're really NOT in the original movie's world. I wondered about, where this story took place during the original timeline? I assumed that this would be some prequel or something? But by having Velma and Daphne's bodies possessed while Mondavarious is currently the queen's prisoner; this is establishes an alternate universe. Meaning, this story doesn't have to follow the same structure as the film. It could end anyway it wants. Whether the inhabitants of "Spooky island" or the humans win, the possibilities for this story are unrestrained! I understand alternate universe works. But this detail expands so many possibilities for where this story could proceed! That's just my take. Either way, Valk did a terrific job with Velma and Daphne. I'd say, being able to instantly recognize Linda Cardellini and Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2-D form; that speaks for how well done they were drawn.
